Red Queen Theory - featured artist

Gothic New Wave Rock. In this episode we feature Seattle band Red Queen Theory. If you're into the goth rock scene in which you would have a female vocalist leading a band of long haired metal heads then you might consider checking out Red Queen Theory's music. Leader singer Elizabeth states, " We've been compared to bands such as Within Temptation or Night Wish, in which you would have a female singer with long hair and two or three guys in the background with even longer hair." Regarding if you like hair or not in your band is not the point here. This band has a very unique sound that, personally, we would say might be considered to be progressive goth rock or a form of goth new wave. Despite, the uncertainty or the range of genres that the band might sound like one aspect stands out, the musicality of the members is what makes this band different from the bands mentioned above. Although Elizabeth's vocals (lead singer) are a feature that immediately captures your attention, the melancholy and dreamy tones, the musicians in general are combing different musical elements and instruments to make a rather distinctive and original sound to their music. This might be the reason why it's not that easy to staple a rock genre on the band's music. To my opinion, songs like The Dream & The Tomb and Of Raven's Blood are songs that really demonstrate the members' musical prowess and the singers distinctive singing style. I would add that the themes involved in the lyrics for the songs include anything from dreamscapes to everyday emotions about loneliness and love so faint. Above all, it is our opinion that this band rocks! In this podcast feature we have an interview with two of the band members,Dean-Bass, Elizabeth-Vocals and as an exclusive we feature The Dream Trilogy in which Elizabeth will take us on a journey of one of her dreams that includes three songs that she also describes. In addition, we’ll be talking about the CUBA-METAL.COM site; the MYSPACE.COM/CUBAMETAL profile and we’ll talk about Juan Raul the Cuban metal promoter and metal head behind these sites. And of course, as always we’ve got some great music for you guys to check out. So, it’s all about Cuban Metal in today’s World Podcast.
