Cuba; the jewel of the Caribbean; the defiant of super powers; the cradle of revolution; the land that created Ché Guevarra’s immortal image as a symbol of hope and defiance for the common people against the ill will of its oppressors. We talk about Cuba’s New Revolution. Cuba’s New Revolution is not a political revolution; it’s a musical revolution. To be concise: a rock and metal music revolution. In past shows of The World Podcast we have featured rock/metal music from Cuba and have shown to the world rock community that Cuba without a doubt has a growing metal scene. In this second part of Cuban Metal we’ll continue to discover more bands; new sounds and we’ll talk about how Cuba has opened up to the use of the Internet –not entirely; however, the countries’ officials have allowed more use within its people of this communication medium. This change in policies on behalf of Cuba’s Officials towards the Internet has allowed us to discover this new form of music coming from Cuba and obviously, to be able to play their music in this podshow. In addition, we’ll be talking about the CUBA-METAL.COM site; the MYSPACE.COM/CUBAMETAL profile and we’ll talk about Juan Raul the Cuban metal promoter and metal head behind these sites. And of course, as always we’ve got some great music for you guys to check out. So, it’s all about Cuban Metal in today’s World Podcast. Strap those butts in tight and get those drinking glasses out of the cabinet; we’re going to Cuba-cabrones!
